THINGS TO DO AND SEE IN KRUJE
A historic town with rich cultural and historical significance, Kruje was the home of Albania’s national hero, Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg, who led the resistance against the Ottoman Empire in the 15th century. It took aggressors four sieges before the city was finally conquered. There’s a lot of history here!

Krujë Castle
The medieval fortress of Skanderbeg offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and you can walk along the ancient walls and enjoy the historic atmosphere.
Skanderbeg Museum
Located inside Krujë Castle, this museum showcases artefacts, weapons, and history related to Skanderbeg’s fight against the Ottomans.
Old Bazaar (Bazari i Vjetër)
What’s not to love about a charming Ottoman-era market where you can buy (and haggle) for handmade crafts, carpets, jewellery, souvenirs, and traditional Albanian items.


Ethnographic Museum
A beautifully preserved 18th-century Ottoman house displaying traditional Albanian life, clothing, and household objects.
Sari Saltik’s Tomb
A sacred site for both Muslims and Bektashi followers, offering hiking opportunities with breathtaking views located on Mount Krujë.
Mount Krujë & National Park
One of the best spots in Albania for walkers and nature lovers, with trails leading to the Qafë Shtama National Park.
