THINGS TO DO AND SEE IN BERAT

Known as the ‘City of a Thousand Windows’, Berat is a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its well-preserved Ottoman architecture, historic neighbourhoods, and stunning scenery. The Onufri Museum

Located inside the Church of the Dormition of St. Mary within Berat Castle, it features stunning Byzantine-era religious icons painted by Onufri, Albania’s most famous iconographer.

Local Wine & Food

All this culture works up a terrific thirst and a healthy appetite. Berat is known for its vineyards so try wine tasting at Çobo Winery or Nurellari Winery. Then enjoy local dishes like Tavë Kosi (baked lamb with yogurt) and Fërgesë (a hearty dish with peppers, cheese, and tomatoes).
